Dairy Farming
In order to generate income and employment in rural and urban areas,The Shestrong Association started dairy farming. In Addition We are also seeking a green environment and self-sufficiency in food production. From 2020 onwards, 2 cows and 4 calves have been cared for and fed at Naranseina. The animals were fed grass and hay that were locally available.
The total area of the farmland is: ¼ acre consisting of Sheds for Cow with Flush wash, Fodder, Clean Straw Yard ,Separate Milking Space and some agricultural land.By the end of next year, we'll be producing about 10 litres a day of milk.Near sheds, there is an agriculture practice, which feeds cows and thus makes use of cow manure and waste.
Additionally, watershed management systems, such as a water pump and sprinkler, are also installed on the farm for agricultural purposes.Whole milk were fed to the calves for the first 7 days, after which the calves were fed starter feed. When it comes to optimum growth and milk production, timely vaccination, accurate diagnosis and taking precautions are key factors. At 6-8 weeks of age, the foot and mouth vaccine was given, which was repeated regularly for 4 months. For the second vaccination, the brucella medicine was only given to female cows after 3 - 5 months.
Vaccination against rinderpest was done after the first six months had passed and will be counted from that date of the first vaccination.
Then comes anthrax vaccination at 6 months old, which is dosed annually.
Therefore, understanding the cause of disease and infection in cattle and taking the necessary precautions is crucial.
